About

The MHS Orchestra program began in 2006-2007 school year with six students, and as we enter our 15th year of Orchestra at MHS, we have grown to almost 200 students. Since its inception, the McKinney High School Orchestra program has established a tradition of excellence and quality of musical performance.

The MHS Orchestra consistently receives straight I Superior ratings at every UIL competition. The success of the MHS orchestra program centers on the pursuit of excellence, pride, commitment to learning, and the willingness to work hard to achieve a common goal. Our mission is to provide the highest quality performances for our community and music education for our students.

The McKinney High School Orchestra was led by Fawn Sorgi from its start in 2007 until 2017. Since then, the directors of the MHS orchestra have been Jeff Harvick and Meara O’Neill.
